Dave says: “ I studied Art when I was at Chester City Grammar school where they 'inspired' us with the history of architecture, perspective and the like. I became interested in the Cubist period of Picasso and the Impressionists. However, I got an E at A level and went into Finance. My Dad always said that there was one in every generation of his family who could paint and he said that was me. I have only really started painting since April 2004 when I lost my job as a Finance Director and so what you see on the web-site is all that I have done since that date. I thank God for giving me the gift and now stirring me up to use it.
Golf courses are beautiful places: a mixture of God's creation and man's ingenuity, to stretch, test but also to admire. I think we are especially blessed with this at my home course of Barton on Sea so what better place to start this artistic career. My aim is to bring real and familiar scenes to the canvas, to remind people of their experiences, and paint colourful reflections of them, whilst being creative in constructing the scenes: they call it artistic license!
And now that same artistic license brings peoples animals to life as my main painting activity is directed to creating the best images of dogs horses cats and even a hamster!
I trust that you enjoy them, and would invite you to send me an email with any comments that you have; complimentary or constructively critical, they will be valuable to me. If you would like to buy an original or a limited edition print, then please also contact me.
